Beginnings
For the amount of times that I went hiking and camping as a kid, I was never really super into the outdoors. Sure playing outside was fun and the hikes were always interesting, but I was never the kind of person to go out and play in the mud just for shits and giggles. Well, I guess once I made a mud pie. Anyways, as I've grown I have learned to appreciate nature and I figured it was about time that I started my own garden. So this was probably the best decision I've made in the last three months. Winter is always kind of a difficult time for me, but this one has been especially hard. Between the lack of vitamin D in the Pacific North West and my own naturally depressive personality, I have sunk pretty low into the blue this time around. But when I sat down yesterday to begin weeding it felt like a weight had shifted. The depression was still there, but in that moment it was utterly manageable.
